We’re proud to have run Southampton’s first canine first aid class, with our sell-out Pet First Aid Training sessions taking place every month since 2014. Each of these classes lasts 3.5 hours and provides accredited CPD training, allowing you to earn a Level 2 (VTQ) Canine First Aid certification.
Whether you need recognised CPD points for your animal business or want practical confidence as a devoted owner, you’ll master critical protocols—including canine CPR, choking response, shock management, bandaging, and heatstroke prevention—directly from a veterinary healthcare professional. (Please note: our classes are for humans only!)

The classes are led by Charlotte, an experienced ex-veterinary nurse with a wealth of knowledge and practical experience in animal care. Charlotte makes every session enjoyable, relaxed, and fun while ensuring that you leave with the essential knowledge and skills needed for pet emergencies. What You Will Learn...
Our hands-on pet first aid training classes are designed to provide you with practical experience, vital skills, and the confidence to act in an emergency involving your dog. Rather than simply listening to a lecture, you will actively engage throughout the course, practicing real canine first aid techniques with our specialized training equipment and models.
You’ll have the opportunity to practice how to respond if your dog or a dog in your care is choking, utilizing our choke vest dog. This allows you to learn the correct technique in a safe, controlled environment. Additionally, you’ll learn and practice critical bandaging techniques, how to perform CPR on CasPeR, and how to locate and assess a dog’s pulse, so you know what to check for in a crisis.
Our dog first aid training covers a variety of common and potentially life-threatening emergencies, including choking, shock, snake bites, wounds, bleeding, and breathing difficulties. By physically practicing these skills rather than just focusing on theory, you'll develop muscle memory and confidence, ensuring you are better equipped to respond quickly should a dog or cat ever require first aid.
We aim to make pet first aid training informative, practical, and enjoyable, equipping everyone with the necessary knowledge and hands-on experience to help in emergencies. Additionally, our veterinary nurse classes offer further training opportunities for those looking to deepen their understanding of pet care and emergency response.

Course Price: £60.00 per person
Fee includes 3.5 hours of accredited CPD training, Level 2 (VTQ) Canine First Aid qualification, 2 digital certificates, an online pet manual, downloadable materials, a pet safety leaflet pack, plus unlimited tea, coffee & biscuits! (Course fees are non-refundable, but transferable with adequate notice).
