Pet safety is our absolute priority. During heatwaves or severe weather, we adjust our schedule—optimum walk times are shifted to early mornings, walk durations are shortened, or we replace outdoor exercise with shaded, low-energy drop-in visits to keep your dog safe from heatstroke and burnt paws.

Buddiepet was featured in the Daily Echo and on BBC Radio Solent for pioneering Southampton’s first monthly accredited Canine First Aid courses. Led by ex-vet nurse Charlotte Burton, these CPD-accredited courses train local dog owners, groomers, and pet professionals on how to perform dog CPR, treat choke hazards, and manage medical emergencies.

"CasPeR" is our specialised canine CPR mannequin used during Buddiepet's monthly Pet First Aid Level 2 (VTQ) classes. Course attendees get hands-on experience performing actual mouth-to-snout resuscitation, finding arterial pulses, and practicing anti-choking techniques on specialised vest gear.

We walk dogs on-lead until we have built a strong relationship and tested their recall. Once we are confident in their training—and only with your written permission—we allow off-lead play in safe, suitable green spaces across Southampton.
For safety and behavioral reasons, unneutered males over a certain age or females currently in season are not eligible for group walking. However, we offer 30-minute and 60-minute solo walks and home drop-in visits so your pet still gets plenty of exercise, stimulation, and attention without missing out.
Our 20-minute cat and small animal visits (£12) provide an ideal alternative to catteries. During each visit, we feed your pets, refresh their water, clean litter trays, administer medications, and provide attention and affection. For added home security while you are away, we can also open and close curtains, collect mail, and cycle lights so it looks like somebody is always home.
